Computer Graphics and Animations Home
This is the animation that I have done in Winter 2003. I worked with four other computer science students in this animation project. The storyboard talks about a group of Zakus who is planning to attack the earth. Gundam comes out in the very last scene and fights with the invaders. The animation is only 50sec long but it takes almost 2 days with 3 computers to render. Also, since we are not professional modelers, the models we made may not so perfect. We mainly used Maya 4.5 in this animation. Some of the effects in the animation were scripted, such as the missile tracking system, the particle system and the control mechanism of the laser gun. This computer animation is the introduction movie of my Java Game ¡V Tank 2002. I did not spent much time to do this animation because I was focusing in the main program at that time. However, I thought the animation is not too bad as a game introduction movie. I used 3D Studio Max3 to create this animation and used Terragen for the skybox. This was the first assignment when I started to learn animation in 1998. In fact, the process of doing this kind of animation is extremely time consuming. Each frame had been drawn on the animation-paper using the light box. After that, the frames had been scanned into the computer. This animation contains around 140 frames. It took me more than a week to finish the drawing. The post process had been done in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop.
